Will April 2022 live up to its billing as a month of showers? You bet it will!

Don’t be fooled by this recent spell of great weather as it’s a sucker punch for a wet April.

The Met Office has issued its forecast for next month and it looks like it’ll be a damp one.

The weather is going downhill from now on with lots of sleet and even snow around as temperatures plummet and then we are into lots of showers … many of them heavy.

Then we’re into April and the Met Office warns: “Periods of cloud and rain are probable, most likely across the north where rain may be heavy and/or prolonged on high ground. Most areas will see spells of rain or showers, potentially wintry on high ground at times.

“Drier and more settled spells of weather are still possible, but more short-lived than recently. Showers will be heavy at times with hail and thunder. Strong winds are also likely, particularly in the north and west with temperatures mainly near or slightly above average.”

As we head towards the last 2 weeks in April things don’t improve a great deal.

The Met Office warns: “Showers may be heavy at times, some perhaps thundery with a chance of hail. Strong winds are also probable, particularly to the north and west. Towards late April there are tentative signs of more settled conditions redeveloping, although rain and showers remain possible.”

The bad news is local councils have no responsibility to provide sandbags.

The good news is that FloodSax alternative sandbags are relatively cheap to buy, very space-saving to store and easy to deploy.

So, best be prepared for flooding and the easiest and quickest way is to have FloodSax alternative sandbags which miraculously expand to become instant sandbags once they are absorbed in water.

They can also be used indoors to soak up leaks, spills and floods in hard-to-reach places such as beneath floorboards or under pipes.
