How flooding caused millions of pounds damage to ‘top gun’ jets

Flooding can easily wreak horrendous damage costs … none more so than in Israel.

For the country’s air force had several multi-million pound fighter jets damaged when floodwater poured into their hangars which were below ground level.

The water was caused by heavy rainstorms which shows that flash flooding can happen anywhere and at anytime.

According to news website Haaretz, a senior air force officer told a press briefing that five of the F-16 jets should be back flying within a few days but three others were so badly damaged they could take up to 3 months to repair. A panel of experts will now investigate why they weren’t moved from their underground hangars.

Back in the UK floods have caused havoc and severe damage throughout the autumn and what has been a very wet winter.

Homeowners and businesses often don’t realise that councils have no responsibility to provide sandbags if flooding is expected. They must protect themselves to avoid the terrible misery of flooding and one way to do this is to have FloodSax alternative sandbags which are space-saving to store and easy to deploy. It means you have peace of mind and are ready for action 24/7 to prevent a flood.

Once FloodSax come into contact with water they inflate to weigh 20kg (44lbs) which makes them more effective than traditional sandbags at keeping floodwater out.

More than 2.5 million have now been sold worldwide.
