Forecast is wet and windy until mid-November so be prepared for flooding

The Met Office is forecasting a lot of rain over the next two weeks so be prepared for flooding.

It starts with all areas seeing rain this week which could be heavy in places with gales around the coasts.

That sets the scene for wet and windy weather up to mid-November, but the better news is it won’t be too cold.

The Met Office says we will “see spells of rain or showers for many, heavy at times, especially in the west and northwest. These unsettled conditions will persist for the remainder of the period. It will be windy throughout with generally mild temperatures. Coastal and hilly areas may expect gales.”

Later in November it’s hoped the weather settles down and we get a period of high pressure which should hopefully reduce the rainfall but temperatures will then plummet.

Local councils have no responsibility to provide sandbags if flooding is imminent so it’s the responsibility of homeowners and businesses to organise their own flood protection.

Many use FloodSax alternative sandbags as they are space-saving to store and quick and easy to deploy in an emergency so people can be prepared for flooding at anytime, day or night.
